Please find a group of documents in support of the request that an Off the Beach sailing division be created within NHTYA.

 

These documents were tabled and form the basis of the 12 month trial.

• 01 Proposal, the actual proposal itself.

• 02 OTB Notice of Race (NoR). Note that in order to maintain the OTB to be subservient to the Trailable division, the OTB NoR must be read in conjunction with the trailable division NoR

• 03 OTB Sailing Instructions (SI’s). Note that in order to maintain the OTB to be subservient to the Trailable division, the OTB SI’s must be read in conjunction with the trailable division SI’s

• 04 OTB Equipment Audit form. Just to give the members an idea of what OTB safety requirements there are.

• 05 OTB Risk Register. This document was drafted at request of some members of the club in order to assess the level of risk that the club would be exposed to (and justly so). The template for the Risk Register was taken from the Australian Sailing Resources website and provided a good starting point to start the risk journey. This register was constructed in accordance with the guidelines set down by Australian Sailing, whereby a risk workshop was conducted utilising what I considered to be appropriately interested and informed members (listed in the register).

• 06 Instrument of Appointment. As per the club’s Constitution, in order to create a sub-committee, an Instrument in writing needs to be created. I’ve had a crack at creating one. It shows who would be in the committee, it’s proposed length of appointment, and the ‘rules’ by which it will operate. I believe that by creating a sub-committee for OTB sailing that no change to the Constitution is required.
