NHTYA  Cruising

We enjoy an active cruise calendar with both home and away cruises. We aim to cruise each month except over winter- although we do have an onshore cruise in July.

Our cruises encompass a variety of destinations, some with facilities and some require you to be self sufficient.

We take full advantage of being a trailer sailer, opening up wonderful destinations unavailable to keel boats.

For example; Wallis Lakes, Myall Lakes, Lake Glenbawn. AND away cruises spanning the country from  the Whitsundays to Port Stephens to Gippsland Lakes.

Owning a trailer sailer means these prime spots are only a couple of days drive instead of a couple of weeks sail.

Club members are more than keen to share their favourite spots on Lake Macquarie.

Our special club atmosphere encourages families, couples or singlehanded sailors to join together and enjoy their sailing passion amongst friends.

Please take a look at our program and cruise reports. Not sure what type of trailer sailer to buy or how to use one?

No worries we have that covered too and are more than happy to show you.

Check out all the information to do with cruising in the drop down tabs.

NHTYA is putting together a booklet of 'Boat Food' ideas and recipes together with what equipment we use on a trailer sailer and cooking in small places.

There is a whole section on the Myal Lakes, Home cruises and Away cruise reports.

Some cruises we take advantage ond maximise the use of a trailer sailer with its 'mast down' . River cruises with bridges too low for a mast are still within reach.
